The Role

We have a great opportunity in our Sales team as we expand our presence globally. This exciting new role will help support business expansion in Norway at a pivotal time for Geoteric.

The Business Development Geoscientist (BDG) will provide pre... and post-sales technical support to enable revenue growth across a wide range of customers.

A key component of the role is understanding Geoteric’s software and leveraging your technical background to convey the Geoteric value proposition to customers.

You will be proactive, tenacious, and capable of developing a strong network throughout Norway. An ability to identify and develop opportunities across asset groups and throughout the value chain is essential to succeed as a BDG.

In collaboration with the Business Development Manager, you will follow a defined sales strategy to help win new business with short sales cycles, and follow growth strategies to secure business with existing customers and onboard new clients.

Achievement in this role will involve increasing the awareness of Geoteric within the territory, identifying and referring leads to the Sales Account Manager, and providing technical support throughout the entire sales cycle .

Enthusiasm, drive, excellent social skills and a strong technical capability to engage directly and consultatively with a wide range of customers is essential to deliver success in this role.

Responsibilities
• Expand the Geoteric user base within assigned accounts in the region.
• Deliver software demonstrations, technical presentations, user support and training sessions
• Increase Geoteric’s market penetration in assigned accounts, develop and nurture key relationships and increase user awareness of Geoteric products.
• Refer opportunities and key information to the SAM.
• Assist in developing growth strategies for targeted accounts, implement detailed account plans and identify key stakeholders.
• Maintain and update the CRM system with activities.
• Address client queries professionally, delivering a high technical standard and customer satisfaction.
• Articulate the differentiated value proposition and adapt to clients’ needs through value-based technical support.
• Prepare software and services proposals and quotes, deliver to the client and negotiate to close.
• Attend and present at industry events and seminars throughout Norway

Personal Profile
• Educated to degree level in a Geosciences or related Earth Sciences discipline.
• Experience in technical sales of geoscience software applications, or supporting the sales process, to E&P companies of all sizes.
• Recent experience of working in the Norway territory.
• Must be fluent in Norwegian language.
• Excellent customer engagement skills, particularly an ability to establish new customer relationships, with decision makers as well as technical experts.
• Demonstrable success in growing the adoption of software within existing accounts.
• Be able to implement technical sales support activities to deliver significant growth in targeted accounts.

Relationships

This role reports to the Regional Sales Manager - EAME and works closely with the regional BDMs and Geoscientists

Location & Travel

The position may be based in Stavanger, with regular travel throughout the territory.
