The purpose of this role is to assist with aligning agile methodology to change management processes. Theincumbent of this role will be required to manage all Digital Transformation (DT) related changes in a controlled manner, including standard changes and emergency maintenance relating to business processes, applications, release backlog and lead all digital transformation related changes in the business aligned to the .DT portfolio. This includes change standards and procedures, impact assessment, prioritization and authorisation, normal or planned changes, tracking, reporting, closure, and documentation.

This position reports to the Digital Business Partner.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Function
• Contributes to the strategy and vision of the Digital Business Enablers capability.
• Drive best practices, iterative improvement, and innovation at the strategic deployment level.
• Provide strategic support and identify opportunities in existing business processes using agile... methodology change management.
• Function as an integrator between the business and technology to be in alignment.
• Support the implementation of the centre Balance Score Card (BSC) project and initiatives.
• Enable fast and reliable delivery of change to the business, whilst mitigating the risk of negatively impacting the stability or integrity of the changed environment.
• As part of transitioning, facilitate the implementation planning, system and data conversion, acceptance testing, communication, release preparation, promotion to production of new or changed business processes and DT services, early production support, and a post-implementation review.

Product Management

Change Management
• Implement the DT change management framework inline AGSA approved policies and adopted standards/ frameworks.
• Ensure the improvement of effectiveness and efficiency of the change management process, and continuously manage risks and management reporting as it relates to change management process.
• Maintain the maturity level of the defined change management process in accordance with contractual requirements
• Define and establish the change management forums where changes get discussed and approved.
• Act as interface for all participants in the change management process, providing expert guidance and advice on formal standards defined for change management.
• Oversee the change post implementation review process, measuring success rates of implemented changes and success rate of process outputs.
• Develop the change management staff to ensure compliance with process objectives in relation to defined key performance indicators.
• Create an awareness of the change management process within DT and support structures for contracted outsourced clients
• Produce deployment and implementation plans and coordinates release content and effort based on the application release schedule, products request backlog, pending products requests, sprint backlogs, and/or applications updates.
• Manage relationships and coordinates work between different teams at different locations to ensure release details and schedules are communicated across the portfolio effectively.Negotiate, plans, and manages all release activities while minimising risks by resolving issues that affect change & release scope, schedule, and quality.
• Keep to date with new change, trends and release management-related technology and methodologies to identify continual improvement opportunities.
• Complete and leads activities such as training needs and determines appropriate training for staff in preparation for technology-based change initiatives and conducts training on new processes where needed.

Release and incident management:
• Regularly liaise with cross functional teams, release and incident management and evaluate change impacts and manage it across the DT portfolio.
• Continuously provide and work closely with the service desk to manage release or change information on current and future products activity, as well as change history.
• Provide controlled implementation of changes and ensure clients receive up-to-date information on the progress of change.
• Ensure Configuration Management Integration and alignment with all subscribed ITIL Processes
• Define and maintain descriptions and relationships among key resources and capabilities required to deliver information and technology enabled services, including collecting configuration information, establishing baselines, verifying, and auditing configuration information, and updating the configuration repository.
• Provide sufficient information about service assets to enable the service to be effectively managed.
• Assess the impact of changes and deal with service incidents.

Stakeholder Management
• Establish, build and maintain collaborative working relationships with relevant internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain positive and value-adding relationships with relevant external stakeholders.
• Scan the environment to ensure a clear understanding of stakeholder needs.
• Proactively interact with stakeholders to determine their needs and deliver on them accordingly.
• Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to identify and evaluate performance barriers and success in order to continuously improve on the service delivery.
• Work in collaboration with colleagues in the centre to ensure timeous delivery of the work.
• Establish and maintain relations with recognised professional bodies within own professional sphere.
• Manage service level agreements (SLAs).

People Management
• Manage own and team performance to drive productivity.
• Motivate, coach and mentor staff to ensure maximum productivity and development of the staff to their full potential.
• Participate and / or take lead in the business unit transformation and culture plans.
• Provide support to the management team with regard to BU and centre management and other people related tasks.
• Financial and Operational Management Contribute to the compilation of centre budget and manage project expenditure related to functional area.
• Ensure compliance to the organisation’s governance processes, policies and processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures.

Skills, Experience & Education

Formal Education
• This position requires a minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s degree field (NQF level 7 or higher) in- Computer Science or related in information technology or related field.

Experience
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Agile Change & Release Management experience. 5+ years of SDLC Release Management experience. Added advantage: ITIL V3 or V4 Expert certification and experience.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices will serve as an advantage.
