Qualification and Requirements:
• A Master’s degree in Water and Sanitation / any water related qualifications with

special interest in Sanitation.
• Must at most have at least three (03) years’ teaching experience at a University or

comparable Institutional level.
• Evidence of at least one (01) publication in a DHET listed journal.
• Evidence of national or international conferences/congresses attendance and

presentation of oral papers.
• Proven ability to supervise research projects at Honours level.
• Evidence of community engagement activities.
• Applicants who have registered for a PhD have an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidates will be expected to:
• Teach undergraduate modules (Sanitation system “on and off-site sanitation”).
• Prepare and develop learning and assessment materials according Problem

Based Learning (PBL) principle.
• Undertake individual research or in collaboration with colleagues within or... outside

the Department.
• Develop fundable research proposals in the Departmental niche/s areas to student

training and support.
• Supervise research projects of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the

• Perform any other duties/responsibilities that may be assigned by the Head of
