We are looking for an Operations Manager for our new Doral, FL Distribution and Manufacturing location. The Operations Manager will facilitate the startup and continued operational objectives centered on meeting an aggressive sales growth plan. Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations including shipping/receiving, materials and inventory management, and light manufacturing consisting of fabrication and welding. This position reports to the Director of National Operations and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities:
• As a start up operation, this role will require initial, hands-on management, including activities such as loading and unloading trucks and sea containers, picking, packing, and palletizing, product labeling, driving facility improvements, and assisting with equipment installation and setup.
• Utilizing the company’s ERP system will generate daily, weekly, and monthly shipping and manufacturing plans to insure on-time delivery.
• Monitor KPI’s through data collection, analysis, and dashboards, as well as provides periodic performance reports against budgets and objectives.
• Drive operational output to meet established goals and objectives.
• Monitor site capacity and occupancy and make recommendations for improvement.
• Review and recommend capital equipment requirements. Create Capex plans and support ROI analysis.
• Monitor associate efficiencies against established output and system standards and take necessary actions to maximize output to insure the greatest return.
• Ensure product quality and implement process improvements through LEAN initiatives.
• Make certain all associates under their direction follow safe working practices as outlined by the company and outside agencies. Is a member of the safety committee.
• Monitor inventory stock levels and work with the Materials Management team to ensure materials levels are maintained.
• Responsible for all inventory at the location, taking ownership of the inventory management process and controls.
• Review site P&L statements and operational dashboards, monitor operating costs and efficiencies of the operation, including materials expense, waste, labor cost and factory supplies, and adjust expenses to meet budgetary goals.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the following areas:
• At least 5 years managing a distribution facility.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently.
• Ability to successfully communicate (both written and verbal) and collaborate with department heads throughout our national operations.
• Experience using ERP systems and be able to utilize the system as part of daily operations.Specifically, materials and inventory management.
• Proficient using MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Spend up to the required time on the shop floor leading, coaching and driving productivity and supporting technical challenges.
• Mechanical working knowledge of metal fabrication equipment. Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to use measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Work overtime as needed, including periodic weekend work, as required.
• A working knowledge of logistics/distribution operations.
• Manufacturing and or Assembly Operations management experience is a plus.
• Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5-10 years’ experience as a site distribution, site manager or similar experience.
• Prior leadership experience in coaching, leading and directing.
• Experience implementing LEAN operating principles.

Physical Requirements:
• Required to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Able to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift.
• Able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Able to wear required PPE such as eye and protection and protective clothing.
