Join our dedicated team where we provide specialist civil engineering services in the Design and Construction of High Voltage Transmission and Distribution Assets for the Networks Business. The team specialises in;
• Conceptual and detailed Engineering Design.
• Design Safety Management.
• Project programming and commercial management.

The Quantity Surveyor role will encompass all aspects of quantity surveying including cost, contract and commercial risk management for our full range of civil engineering projects related infrastructure development in the power industry. The role will encompass close liaison with other design professionals, our partners across ESB and contractors. Increasing visibility of the Quantity Surveying function across ESB, while maintaining standards, developing staff and enhancing stakeholder management are a key requirement for this role.

Key Responsibilities
• Managing all commercials aspects of the delivery of... cables projects including but not limited to the production of Order of Magnitude costs, Bills of Quantities, Pricing Schedules, Commercial assessments of tenders and all aspects of Post Contract commercial management of projects.
• Providing specialist commercial advice for underground cable projects.
• Liaison with all stakeholders in relation to commercial aspects of projects including Lead Engineer, Project Team, Project Manager and Contractor
• Mentor and provide technical support to help in the development of junior staff.
• Promoting and playing an active role in the safety management culture across all activities by taking ownership and demonstrating visible commitment to safety.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential
• Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years post qualification relevant Quantity Surveying experience.
• Knowledge of the administration of the main conditions of contract, including FIDIC
• Self-motivated, capable of project managing own work and coordinating with the wider team
• Strong knowledge of project Cost Control reporting and management including negotiation of variations and contractor claims.
• Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
• Full drivers licence valid for use in the ROI, access to a car and flexibility to travel nationwide

Desirable
• Experience in the use of Buildsoft & Cubit software would be advantageous
• Experience in Civil Engineering / Utility projects would be advantageous
• Chartered status or working towards chartered status in a recognised professional institution

Location

This position will be based in ESB E&MP's Offices at Dublin Airport or Eastgate Cork.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. Salary

€56,000 to €64,000 per annum
