Junior Community Manager CIONET

CIONET is an ambitious and rapidly growing network organisation for digital leaders, including Chief Information Officers and IT directors, along with their teams. With over 11,000 digital leaders/members across Europe, CIONET offers local support through dedicated teams.

CIONET enhances the capabilities of its members - IT executives - by facilitating networking and knowledge-sharing through events, roundtables, and workshops. These gatherings allow members to connect with each other and with IT partner organisations, including well-known European and global vendors of IT hardware, services, and products, who also sponsor CIONET's operations. Additionally, CIONET conducts research projects and publishes insights on current business and IT topics relevant to its members.

To support our rapid growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Community Manager to join the CIONET team in central Mechelen.

Job Description

As a Junior Community Manager... your mission is to manage, support, and grow the CIONET member community, while also supporting the event managers and moderators. Your responsibilities include:
• Ensuring the accuracy and quality of the member database in HubSpot, the IT platform supporting CIONET’s operations.
• Continuously working on community growth through member recruitment campaigns via various channels: email, social media (primarily LinkedIn), mail, etc. Creativity is essential to ensure CIONET remains visible to potential members and builds relationships with them.
• Building long-term relationships with our members, starting from validating membership applications based on defined criteria, onboarding new members, welcoming and guiding them through CIONET's operations, following up with them, and if necessary, off-boarding members who leave the sector or cease professional activities.
• Being the first point of contact for members, handling their inquiries via the website, chatbot, social media, or email, in collaboration with senior CIONET staff.
• Logistically and administratively supporting specific projects, such as research projects or publications, including liaising with suppliers, partners, and other staff.
• Providing general and administrative support to the Belgian CIONET team.
• Supporting the CIONET team during events, including practical preparations such as setting up flags, collecting materials from suppliers, welcoming participants, and sending follow-up or thank-you emails, digital goodie bags, evaluations, etc.

In summary, this is a dynamic role where you can grow professionally. You will receive thorough training, gradually taking on more responsibility, with the aim of potentially advancing to an event manager role.

Who Are You?

Do you need to be an IT expert for this role? No, definitely not. Your passion for hospitality, social skills, and organisational abilities are much more important. A keen interest in the digital world is necessary to understand the challenges CIOs in our network face. You will be part of a close-knit team that works well together, celebrating successful events collectively.
• You have a higher degree in Event Management, Tourism, Hospitality, or Office Management.
• You are fluent in English and Dutch. French is a bonus. (The working language at CIONET is English).
• You have some experience in supporting events, conferences, business meetings, or in hospitality, or with a demanding business audience. Juniors with the right soft skills and motivation are welcome.
• Preferably, you live centrally in Belgium, as CIONET’s HQ is in Mechelen.
• You have an interest in IT, both in using IT tools and understanding the IT world.
• You are passionate about bringing people together and ensuring they have a positive experience.
• You strive for excellence and pay attention to detail.
• You are resilient, responsible, and flexible, thriving in a growing SME environment. Most events occur from September to December and from February to June, during which time you should not plan long holidays.
