POSITION SUMMARY

Provide multilevel instruction for Adult Basic Education levels 1-6 in Reading, Language, Math, Science and Social Studies; incorporate technology in class using appropriate instructional websites, and software and provide students with opportunities to learn and practice technology skills; aid students in identifying their learning styles and teach using a variety of modalities; implement lessons that are aligned with College and Career Readiness Standards incorporating soft skills and life skills based on Georgia Best content and real-life application of skill set. Utilize technology and online resources to support skill proficiency. Provide projected post testing and post test preparation utilizing appropriate online software. Prepare students for High School Equivalency instruction and exams.

• Ability to Utilize pre-test scores (Data Reporting Corporation Report) to develop targeted instruction for students; devise student learning plans for all students based on pre-test scores and prepare Hudents for post-testing. Utilize and assign online resources according to support skill proficiency and test preparation (Aztec, Essential Ed suite, ENGEN etc.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Monitor student progress; monitor GALIS reports and individual data and performance.
• Create standard-based lesson plans; embed soft skills, life skills, and real-world application skills.
• Implement usage of technology within instruction and asynchronous platforms.
• Provide opportunities for small groups and peer-to-peer engagement and activities.
• Teach using a variety of modalities.
• Utilize pre-test scores (Data Reporting Corporation Report) to develop targeted instruction for students; devise student learning plans for all students based on pre-test scores and prepare students for post-testing. Utilize and assign online resources according to support skill proficiency and test preparation (Aztec, Essential Ed suite, ENGEN etc.)
• Teach Adult Education classes that consist of reading, math, science, social studies, and/or language skills based on the individualized learning needs of students. Teach Adult Education English as a Second classes that consist of reading, speaking, and writing the English language skills based on the individual learning needs of students.
• Deliver effective Adult Education instruction using standard based lessons.
• Plan, develop and implement lessons that require the use of higher order thinking skills.
• Complete and maintain appropriate attendance and assessment records and ensure timely submission (daily) of data for NRS input.
• Evaluate students' ongoing progress and performance in attaining goals and objectives and document in GALIS.
• Communicate with appropriate staff/faculty for students' testing needs in a timely manner. Review post-test scores, practice test scores and GED/HiSET test scores.
• Coordinate and provide appropriate student referrals for Integrated Education and Trainings, wrap around service, High School Equivalency Testing credential scholarships and testing and transition services: collaborate with the leadership team (Program Assistant, Data Manager, instructional Lead and Transition Specialist) for extenuating circumstances.
• Monitor student data weekly (GALIS Reports - AE09S, AE214)
• Monitor student learning plans and asynchronous work.
• Promote the adult education program to public and private organizations throughout the Service Delivery Area of the program.
• Participate in the local EAGLE competition.
• Provide effective classroom management that enhances student learning.
• Demonstrate teamwork, customer service and organizational commitment.
• Assist with recruitment and retention activities.
• Support the mission and vision of the district, program, and Technical College System of Georgia.
• Prepare students to transition to the Adult Basic Education level class.
• Practice classroom management and time management.
• Provide post-test updates and post-test preparation.
