You will play a crucial role crafting compelling, on-brand messaging for various marketing initiatives, with a strong focus on digital and print media. You will be responsible for creating engaging content to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and conversion across a wide range of channels, including ATL advertising, social media, web, email, business messaging platforms (e.g., WhatsApp) and print materials for use in marketing or in-club. Work as part of a global creative studio, with ability to pick up and respond to briefs from South Africa and beyond.

Your Duties and... Responsibilities...
• Develop bold and disruptive copy for digital channels, including social media posts, website content, email campaigns, and WhatsApp messages.
• Craft captivating headlines, taglines, and product descriptions to drive member engagement and conversion.
• Conceptualise thumb-stopping social content, including posts, captions, and responses to engage the audience and foster community interaction.
• Craft compelling and original copy for print materials such as brochures, flyers, posters, and advertisements.
• Collaborate with designers to ensure the copy and visual elements align to create category-busting print collateral.
• Maintain and uphold Virgin Active's brand voice, ensuring all content aligns with brand guidelines and messaging strategies.
• Ensure that brand messaging is consistent across all marketing materials, both digital, social and print.
• Collaborate with the Web / SEO team to create SEO-friendly content for the website and other digital assets.
• Research and implement keywords to improve the content's search engine visibility.
• Develop social media content, including posts, captions, and responses to engage the audience and foster community interaction.
• Stay current with social media trends and incorporate them into content strategies.
• Write engaging and personalized email content for marketing campaigns to boost open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
• A/B testing and optimizing email copy for better performance.
• Collaborate with different stakeholders across the business.

Our Minimum Criteria...

We can't live without...
• Marketing, Communications, English, or related field.
• 5-6 years’ experience as a Senior copywriter in an advertising/marketing role, with a portfolio of work showcasing digital and print materials, as well as social content.
• Be passionate about tone of voice and crafting bold copy that excites and disrupts.
• Have a general understanding on what performs well on social platforms, including paid vs organic content insights.
• Ability to adapt writing style and tone to suit the specific platform and target audience.
• Excellent command of the English language and impeccable grammar and spelling
• Understanding of SEO best practices and digital marketing trends.
• Proficiency in using content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and email marketing platforms.
• Be able to work in office full time.
