The purpose of this job is to ensure the accurate development and management of closure project costs, facilitate cost control measures, track project progress, and provide design support, ultimately contributing to the efficient and compliant closure of projects while optimizing resources and minimizing financial risks for the organization.

Duties and responsibilities:

Required to meet the following duties (for 2 years):
• in the yearly closure cost development for all Closure projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards and policies considering factors such as labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• closely with the senior closure specialist and other stakeholders to gather data, analyze costs, and prepare reports related to closure projects.
• the implementation of cost control procedures and processes, including monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• project progress, forecast costs at... completion, and mitigate potential cost overruns.
• and validate cost data provided by contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• accurate and up-to-date records of project costs, commitments, and expenditures, utilizing project management.
• in project meetings and provide regular updates on cost-related matters, highlighting any significant issues or deviations from the budget.
• the senior specialist in ad hoc tasks and special projects as required.
• and draft sketch or conceptual designs in AutoCAD and estimate quantities (areas, volume, etc.)
• the field earthworks for the planning and execution of projects, trials, and concurrent rehabilitation.

Training & Experience:
• degree in civil engineering
• of 2 years of experience in cost analysis, project controls, earthworks, or related roles, preferably in the mining or environmental sector.
• skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD and other relevant software applications for data analysis, mapping, and reporting.
• of project management principles, cost estimation techniques,
• communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• and organized, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• to work independently under minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:
• position is located at the Merian mine site. The incumbent must be willing and able to live in a remote mining accommodation camp for extended periods as per the work schedule.
• may be required to travel to and assist other domestic and international sites.
• is available for National personnel on a 14/7 rotational schedule.
• comply with health and safety regulations, company policies, procedures, and the company's environmental policy.
• be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• on rough, uneven, inclined, wet terrain, and climb stairs.
• personal protective equipment including hardhat, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, respirators, self-contained breathing apparatus, earplugs, gloves, or any other equipment to perform duties safely.
