Harbourside Transportation Consultants specializes in traffic engineering and the design of transportation / civil infrastructure. HTC’s expertise is focused on traffic analysis, transportation planning, and transportation design, including highways, streets, signalized intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts. HTC also carries out civil site design and municipal services design.

Harbourside Transportation Consultants is looking for the right individual to join our Dartmouth office. This opportunity will be both challenging and rewarding, providing the successful candidate with the ability to expand their design and business development skills while working as part of a dynamic team.

• Preparation of preliminary and final designs for road reconstruction and infrastructure renewal projects, stormwater projects, culverts, watermains, sanitary and storm sewers and grading.
• Engineering and contract administration related to municipal projects including site... development, roads, watermains, sanitary sewer systems and stormwater management.
• Preparation and coordination of approvals, tender documents, cost estimating, contract documents, reports including sealing the documents.
• Preparation of designs, drawings and technical specifications.
• Preparation of cost estimates.
• Writing of technical engineering reports.
• Carry out site visits to gather information, carry out construction site reviews and attend project design and construction meetings.
• Preparation of proposals.
• Project management of work assignments.
• Assist senior staff with marketing and sales of transportation engineering services.

• Registered or eligible to register with Engineers Nova Scotia.
• 5+ years’ experience in civil/municipal engineering.
• Familiar with applicable design standards.
• Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. A Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be a highly organized professional with the ability to prioritize multiple work assignments. They will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience with customer relationship management, dealing with contractors and conducting site reviews, attending project meetings, and coordinating with other organizations and consultants would be considered strong assets.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,405.19-$85,800.70 per year
