Conduct geological surveys to assess the potential for natural resource extraction and identify potential hazards.
Design and implement engineering projects to mitigate risks associated with geological hazards, such as landslides and earthquakes.
Collaborate with other geologists, engineers, and environmental specialists to develop and implement sustainable resource management plans.
Utilize geologic data, mapping, and analysis to inform decision-making and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Monitor and analyze geological data to identify potential environmental impacts and recommend mitigation strategies.
Develop and maintain accurate geological databases and records.
Prepare and present technical reports and presentations on geological findings and project proposals.
Provide expertise and guidance to other team members on geological matters.
Stay updated on advancements and changes in geology and engineering practices.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working in the field.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and the public to educate and inform about geological issues and projects.
Travel to various locations within the state to conduct fieldwork and assessments.

Participate in and contribute to professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Represent the department at conferences, meetings, and other events related to geology engineering.
