We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to manage Council's Solid Waste Service contract and assist with delivering the solid waste operations.

About the role

This is a permanent full-time role based in Thames, and reports to the Solid Waste Manager.

The role sits in our Infrastructure Team and is responsible for contract management and administration, stakeholder engagement, managing budgets and costs, addressing operational matters, managing data and activity reporting as well as monitoring and implementing Council's Waste Minimisation Plan.

You will work closely with our Solid Waste Contractor who provides kerbside collection services and manages our seven Refuse & Recycling Transfer Stations (RTS) across the peninsula. You will also work with other key suppliers who assist with repair and maintenance of Council's assets.

About you

In addition to time management skills, the successful applicant will have the ability to communicate well and have the following... attributes:

Preferably the ideal candidate will also have the following.
• Three plus years' experience in the waste industry and / or three plus years' experience in contract management
• An understanding of NZS3917/3910
• A qualification in Engineering or demonstrated experience in a technical role.
