As a division of BYD Auto, BYD Commercial Vehicles Australia (BYD CV) is responsible for the sales and service of BYD buses and trucks in the Australian market.

About the Role

Based in BYD's Melbourne office, the position will play a crucial role in driving sales and expanding our customer base. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying sales opportunities, building strong client relationships, and closing deals.

1. Sales
• Develop and implement... effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets for new buses.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, cold calling, and attending industry events.
• Develop and implement a territory action plan.
• Identify prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all service categories.
• Achieve sales goals by assessing current client needs and following a defined selling process with potential buyers, often including product demos and presentations.

2. Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
• Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure that they receive exceptional service and to identify potential new sales opportunities.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing product information.
• Follow up with client’s post-sale to ensure satisfaction and promote after-sales services.

3. Sales Administration and Reporting
• Prepare accurate and persuasive sales proposals, quotes, and contracts.
• Negotiate terms and conditions of sales agreements to reach mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Maintain comprehensive records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions using the CRM system.
• Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management.

4. Product Knowledge and Presentation
• Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and competitive offerings in the bus market.
• Conduct detailed product demonstrations and presentations, highlighting the features, benefits, and value propositions of our buses.
• Customize presentations to address specific client needs and preferences.

5. Demonstrate corporate responsibility.
• Always act in a manner consistent with BYD Auto values.
• Comply with the BYD standards of conduct and all applicable policies and legislation.
• Represent BYD in public and official forums, functions and joint ventures as required.

Note that the role requires regular travel throughout Australia and occasional overseas travel.


Qualifications/ Experience:
• Around 5 years of experience working in similar role(Bus experience preferred but not mandatory)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong relationship-building abilities and a customer-centric approach.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Either hold or able to obtain a Heavy vehicle (Heavy Rigid) license.
• Fully proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
