General Summary

A Senior Land Surveyor is responsible for the design, coordination and management of a variety of surveying projects, legal descriptions and boundary determinations. Makes client contacts and develops proposals. Responsible for project budgets and client satisfaction.

Essential Job Function

1. Prepare boundary surveys, easements and legal descriptions

2. Provide professional coordination and expertise related to the work of field survey crews and office staff to support work requests.

3. Provide technical and legal assistance

4. Review and certify completed survey work, writes or directs the writing of land legal descriptions and maps in accordance with standard surveying practices.

5. Interprets and reviews engineering plans and drawings.

6. Reviews records, charts, and statistical information of a technical engineering nature.

7. Analyzes data as it comes from the field and office staff.

8. Ability to make arithmetic computations.

9. Direct field operations of a Survey crew

10. Prepare, read and/or interpret Engineering plans, field notes and specifications.

11. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the project.

12. Other duties as apply

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs
• Familiar with laser scanning and GPS
• Valid Driver License
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Carlson software
• Construction staking experience
• Ability to make numeric computations

Education and Experience

Licensed Land Surveyor

Experience surveying during construction and/or preparing as-built drawings

Experience with surveying products, including GPS systems for RTK surveying and robotic total stations

6+ years of survey experience
