About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled I&C Engineer to play a crucial role in the gas flaring reduction project at the Bin Umar gas processing plant. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing plant performance, reducing emissions, and contributing to the overall success of this important environmental initiative.Responsibilities:Troubleshooting and Reliability Improvements: Identify and resolve instrumentation issues in both upstream and downstream operations, ensuring the safety, availability, and reliability of systems while optimizing costs.Instrument Surveillance Programs:Develop and execute comprehensive surveillance programs using CMMS or other data sources.Analyze maintenance records to determine failure rates, reliability, bad actors, and program effectiveness.Integrate maintenance and... process data for a holistic understanding of instrument and process control performance.Utilize risk-based work selection techniques to identify maintenance/improvement items.Process Control Surveillance Programs:Collect and analyze process data using the company's historian database and visualization tools.Perform process control philosophy and stability reviews.Execute control logic updates and loop tuning to optimize process control.Criticality Assessment and Maintenance Planning:Conduct criticality assessments of I&C systems.Develop equipment strategies and maintenance plans considering SIL assessments, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer recommendations.Technical Documentation:Review, update, and develop I&C technical documentation, including P&IDs, cause and effect diagrams, and control narratives.Control System Life Cycle Management:Execute control system and SIS/PLC life cycle management programs.Manage system inventory, obsolescence plans, spare parts, and upgrade/replacement planning.Control System Maintenance and Testing:Support maintenance and test planning for control systems and SIS/PLCs.Oversee software upgrades, ESD testing, offline and online testing, and coordination of activities with/without plant shutdowns.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (preferably with a specialization in instrumentation or electronics), Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Systems, or Chemistry. An advanced degree is preferred.Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience supporting online process analyzers in the oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical industry.Additional Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in applying I&C engineering in oil and gas, refining, or petrochemical projects or operations.Preferred: Experience with international projects in MNC, WOFE, or JV settings.Skills and Knowledge:Knowledge of measurement principles and infrastructure for common process analyzers.Experience with analytical chemistry techniques (GC, MS, IR, UV Spectroscopy).Knowledge of analyzer communication protocols and DCS integration.Familiarity with field and online analyzer equipment from various vendors (Siemens, Yokogawa, ABB, Emerson).Familiarity with industry standards, country-specific regulations, and local codes.Understanding of analyzer maintenance work processes (planning, scheduling, PMs, performance checks).Understanding of equipment sparing, redundancy, reliability, availability, maintainability, and maintenance cost.Understanding of product quality measurement and Quality Assurance Systems.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in selection, application, and specification of field hardware (pressure/temperature/flow/level instruments, control valves, etc.).Proficiency in specification, selection, application, and configuration/programming of Safety Instrument Systems.Working knowledge of complex instrument systems (machinery control, vibration monitoring, custody transfer metering, etc.).Ability to review, evaluate, and update P&IDs, logic diagrams, and control narratives.Proficiency in data collection and analysis using common database and software tools (SAP, Excel, Tableau).Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to contribute to a significant environmental project.Professional development and growth opportunities
