The Hounslow Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) Service is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative Band 6 Specialist SLT to join our Preschool Special Needs Team.

We provide high quality therapy for children via assessment, diagnosis, management and training. We work in a multidisciplinary team with allied health professionals including paediatricians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, education settings and families.

To be accountable for the development, delivery and quality of services for... children with speech, language and communication needs by ensuring that the service is effective, well co-ordinated and responsive to changing needs.

To be responsible for providing specialist knowledge/training/advice in specialist field providing second opinions, clinical supervision and working with students, volunteers and assistants.

To deliver specialist training to the therapy team as well as to a range of professionals as appropriate.

To ensure effective joint working practice between own service, other speech and language therapists and other relevant professionals in the fields of health, education, the voluntary sector, social services.

To maintain an up-to-date, advanced level of theoretical knowledge and therapeutic evidence-based practice through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, reading, clinical excellence networks (CENs) and external training courses.
