Title: IT Project Controls Manager...

Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid, must be willing to travel onsite once a week)

Duration: Full time

This role will cover the end-to-end development and integration of planning activities across the lifecycle of a range of IT Projects and maintenance activities. Interface Management will be a key aspect of this role and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and to interpret and analyze data and make robust recommendations to the project team will be an important part of the role.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement project controls procedures and processes to monitor and track project performance, including cost, schedule, and scope.
• Scrutinize schedules, identify critical paths, and articulate insights to leadership.
• Manage and monitor projects' budgeting and cost control processes. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and prepare detailed variance reports to track discrepancies between projected and actual expenditures. Communicate findings and recommendations through both verbal presentations and comprehensive written reports.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical leads, and stakeholders to establish project baselines and performance metrics.
• Lead the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
• Monitor project progress and performance against established baselines, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Generate and analyze project performance reports, trends, and forecasts to provide timely and accurate insights to project teams and management.
• Facilitate project risk management activities, including identification, assessment, mitigation, and contingency planning.
• Support project change management processes, including the evaluation of change requests and impact analysis on project cost and schedule. Analyze the impact of changes on project budget, schedule, feasibility, and risk profile.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls management on IT projects.
• Must have experience designing project controls for a $100M Program.
• 5+ years of experience developing schedules for IT projects in Primavera.
• Superior P6 knowledge, proficient in employing the Critical Path Methodology (CPM) and resource optimization techniques.
• Must have experience in leading / Managing a team of Schedulers.
• Must have expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Earned Value Management System, specifically with CPI, SPI, and S-Curves metrics.
• Experience in financial reporting systems and project code of accounts, and understanding of accounting instructions, which impacts project controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project data and trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills to craft compelling, data-driven narratives.
• Experience with Power BI Dashboards or a similar software, for actionable data insights.
• PMP or similar project management certification is a plus
