The Accounting Technician Apprentice will perform assigned duties within the areas of accounts payable and receivable, general ledger reconciliation, internal control documentation and reporting, and inventory functions.

Essential Functions

The Employee will:
• Reviews accounts payable invoices, assigns vendor numbers and similar identifying data, and confirms correct accounting codes were used.
• Enters master data information into the accounting software (customer, vendor, fixed asset, and inventory).
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliation in coordination with the shared services team.
• Prepares monthly general ledger reconciliation reports.
• Prepares internal control documentation.

Performs other duties to assist other accounting teams and as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
• Education & Experience
• Must provide a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Licensure/Certification/Professional Association/Special Qualifications
• Must be able to provide proof of... residency in Guam for a minimum of 3 years

Apprenticeship Requirements:
• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Be a US citizen or resident alien
• Be at least 18 years of age or older
• Have a Valid Driver’s License
• Have been a resident of Guam for a period not less than three (3) consecutive years before entry into the program.
• Mayor’s Verification must be submitted upon hire.
• Must be able to attend a minimum of two (2) classes per semester as identified by program coordinator, while working forty (40) hours per week with IP&E.

• Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures

• Critical thinking and active listening

Abilities:
• Handle tactical day-to-day operations
• Communicate well with employees at all levels of the organization
• Understanding protocols of when to escalate matters to management
