Job Description

Created in 2015 in Paris, Foodles provides a flexible and responsible alternative to traditional foodservice in workplaces. Fresh, chef-cooked, high-quality products are made available 24/7 in our patented 'smart fridges', that get restocked every day.

Currently we have an office, kitchen and warehouse, all that are located in Wood Green, North London. We are a friendly and fun team to be a part of and now looking for a new recruit to help with the continuous growth of Foodles

Your mission:

Join our fast-growing team at Foodles as the Distribution Manager, where you'll play a crucial role in steering and scaling our daily dispatch, picking, and delivery operations . This position demands a proactive leader who excels in a fast-moving environment, ensuring that our distribution processes run smoothly and efficiently.

You will report directly to our Head of Operations and will directly manage a team of 4 drivers and one Warehouse / Picking Operator to start with. Currently we have 4 vans going out for delivery but with expected growth to 6+ vans by the end of the year.

Your responsibilities:

Dispatch and Route Planning

Create daily dispatch plans by determining the quantities and items to dispatch for each client, utilising our consumption forecast algorithm.
- Plan and optimise daily delivery routes, monitoring the performance and efficiency metrics, such as on-time deliveries and compliance with fridge planograms.

Driver and Shift Management

Create and confirm the weekly rotating schedule for drivers, ensuring adherence and accountability for completing shifts.
- Conduct daily debrief sessions with drivers to review any issues faced during deliveries and set expectations for the upcoming shifts.
- Serve as a backup driver in the absence of scheduled drivers, ensuring deliveries are completed as planned.

Picking Operations

Establish and manage picking operations, including setting processes and managing a dedicated team of pickers as we grow.
- Ensure accurate order picking so that clients receive the correct quantities and products.

Delivery Monitoring and Support

Monitor deliveries to ensure each client is served efficiently and to the standards expected by Foodles.

Be available on-call throughout the delivery process to address any emergent problems or queries from drivers.

Fleet Management

Maintain the fleet through regular vehicle checks and coordinate servicing as necessary.
- Adapt and scale the fleet to meet growing operational needs in a sustainable manner.

Training and Development

Recruit, train, and evaluate drivers continually, aiming to enhance their skills and ensure high performance.
- Develop contingency plans for operational disruptions or unexpected challenges.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager on aspects related to driver compensation and other logistical concerns.

Your profile:
You are the right person for us if you recognize yourself in the following profile:

You are a highly organised individual with a proven track record in logistics or distribution management. You have strong leadership skills, are adept at problem-solving, and can handle the pressures of a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with tech-driven inventory and delivery systems is a plus, as is experience in supervising teams in a logistical context.


Full UK Driving License: Necessary for role fulfilment.
- Experience in Supervision: At least 3 years of experience supervising a driving team, with a demonstrated ability to improve processes and team reliability.
- Vehicle Maintenance Knowledge: Skilled in regular checks and maintenance of vehicles and vans.
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised to ensure timely coordination of drivers and maintenance schedules.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, especially with Excel and Google Sheets, are crucial.
- Problem-Solving: Must remain calm in stressful situations, with a readiness to handle on-call, real-time problem resolution.
- Reliability: Dependable and flexible to meet the demands of the job.
- Logistics Software Experience: Proficient with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

- Customer Service Skills: Good communication skills to professionally interact with clients and team members, particularly in situations requiring negotiation and problem resolution.
- Driving Expertise: Proven experience with driving and managing multi-drop deliveries.
- Tech Familiarity: Experience using GPS devices for route management.
- Professionalism: A polite and professional demeanour in all business interactions.

And last but nos least: you have a status that allows you to work in the UK.

Full-Time: Sun-Thur, 4pm - 1am

Pay: Competitive Salary depending on experience (indicative range £38-42k)
