The Coordinator Clinical Extern Program serves as the primary point of contact for veterinary and technician students wishing to complete school-required or elective work experience at BluePearl.

Job Responsibilities

· Ensures that students submitting application requests have provided all the required information prior to scheduling externships.

· Provides a timely experience for veterinary students submitting request to scheduling externship or reaching out for alternate dates within two business days.

· Executes the roll-out of Acuity at BluePearl including training hospital staff on calendar set-up, answering questions, and requests under the supervision of the Director of House Officer Programs.

· Acts as the primary contact with the Acuity Enterprise team for all questions and requests.

· Answers extern... questions as able and directs other inquiries to subject-manner experts as appropriate, including the Manager and Director of House Officer Programs.

· Coordinates with the Manager of Campus Connect to ensure that prospective interns and emERge participants are contacted with information regarding those programs.

· Addresses hospital cancellations in a proactive and timely manner (within one business day) by communicating with and rescheduling externs.

· Participates in distributing and collating extern survey responses including sharing results with local hospital.

· Answers questions about extern travel stipends from students and hospitals, assisting with submission for reimbursement as needed.

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or GED required.

· 2+ years relevant experience required.

● Works under minimal supervision.

● Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

● Excellent interpersonal, organizational, prioritization of work, and problem-solving skills.

● Requires in-depth skills and knowledge of the specialized concepts, practices, and procedures in the area of specialization.

● Utilizes in-depth knowledge of the specialization as well as business needs to recommend appropriate action.

Working Conditions

● Ability to stand or sit at a computer station for long periods of time.

● The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

● Environment where pets are present.

● No travel requirements though occasional opportunities may be available.
