Inside Climate Service (ICS, https://www.inclimateservice.com) is seeking a Front End Software and Web Application Developer with indicatively 2-7-year experience to assist with the fast-growing web application development requirements of TEAL, an online visualisation tool for climate and other data: https://tealtool.earth


• Developing the front end for applications and prototypes of updated and/or new climate service tools and products;

• Actively contributing to UI/UX

• Building reusable and robust code for future use

• Collaborating with other team members and stakeholders

• Maintaining, updating the organisation website(s)

Skills (Selection criteria)
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including Angular, jQuery
• Proficient understanding of Wordpress and web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• Proficient... understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to solve them
• Experience of using code versioning tools, such as Git.
• [Desirable] Experience of using JavaScript graphic libraries, such as D3, amCharts, Leaflet, etc. \

The Front End Software and Web Application Developer is offered as a full-time position, initially as a two-year contract, which can be renewed upon satisfactory performance. The place of work is Padova (Italy); however, teleworking can also be considered. The successful applicant will be offered a salary dependent on qualifications, experience and track record. This position offers a varied and interesting workload, in a highly stimulating environment. The position is available now and the search will continue until the position is filled.

Inside Climate Service is an ambitious start up, spin-off of the University of Padova and World Energy & Meteorology Council. The innovative nature of Inside Climate Service stems from a blend of Academia and operational developments.

To succeed, you will have experience in front-end web development, and a strong interest for both technical implementation and design aesthetics. You will work closely with our team including a senior designer, data engineer and software developer.
