Title :

Engineering Technician VI

KBR’s Defense Systems Engineering Division is seeking an Engineering Technician VI to serve as a member of our team in Okinawa, Japan on the FACSFAC Field Maintenance Contract supporting NAWCAD Wolf Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems Division.

In this role, you will serve as the primary interface and point of contact with Government technical personnel as well as functions as the off-site lead at Camp Hansen Kin-Cho Kin, Okinawa, Japan.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Serve as the primary POC for government technical personnel and function as the off-site lead.
• Troubleshoot field equipment failures for Integrated Range Status System (IRSS) equipment. Document maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting or assessment of IRSS equipment.
• Test and evaluation, training installation, and logistic support for designated systems, subsystems, and components associated with air traffic control and... airspace management systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

Citizenship : Must be a US Citizen

Clearance : Active Secret Clearance

Certification : Must have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ Certification within six months of employment

Education : AS or AA in electronics or engineering technology OR U.S. Navy A, B or C.

Experience : (Experience requirements may be concurrent)
• At least sixteen (16) years of overall practical experience in electronics or engineering technology, including lead technician experience.
• Ten (10) years of experience : installation of equipment.
• Six (6) of experience : design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
• Ten (10) years of experience in automated ATC surveillance systems , of which seven (7) must have been performed within the last nine (9) years.

Education : A high school diploma

Experience : (Experience requirements may be concurrent)
• At least sixteen (16) years of overall practical experience in electronics or engineering technology, including lead technician experience.
• Ten (10) years of experience : installation of equipment.
• Six (6) of experience : design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
• Twelve (12) years of experience in automated ATC surveillance systems , of which seven (7) must have been performed within the last nine (9) years.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
• Prior Military Experience in Okinawa, Japan
• Prior or current experience supporting the FACSFAC Field Maintenance Contract or the NAWCAD Wolf Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems Division.
