The Town of Minto is located in the north-western boundary of Wellington County and is composed of the former Towns of Harriston and Palmerston, the former Village of Clifford and surrounding rural area of the former Minto Township. Your Opportunity
This is your opportunity to contribute to the success of our team, and our community. There are three core functions to this role: financial analysis & planning, budgeting & investment analysis, and asset management support. Key accountabilities in each of the three functions include:

Financial Analysis & Planning
Working with our team, you will:
• Conduct detailed financial analyses of transactions to support variance & trend analysis, and cash forecasting.
• Prepare regular financial reports, including quarterly internal financial reviews.
• Assist with meeting the reporting requirements of various grants and funding programs in accordance with reporting deadlines.
• Assist with operations of Development Charges system and tracking related accounts and reserves.
• Monitor debt levels and financial resources.

Budgeting & Investment Analysis
• Support the annual budgeting process, providing insights and recommendations, reports and documents which integrate the priorities of Council, staff and citizens.
• Incorporate budget requests and approvals into financial software to provide meaningful and timely reports to Council and municipal departments.
• Support the implementation of the new budget software.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, recommending actions to address variances.

Asset Management Support
• Lead the maintenance and improvement of the Asset Management Program, ensuring data integrity and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Assist with improvements and expansion of the use of Citywide to produce useful, important, and reliable information for Finance and other Town of Minto departments.
• Support the evaluation of asset life cycle costs and assist in optimizing asset utilization and investment.
• Develop and update asset management plans, integrating inputs from various studies and directives.

What it Takes to do the Job
To excel in this role, you should possess:
• A post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Professional CPA certification is an asset.
• 3-5 years of municipal/public sector experience in finance.
• Advanced knowledge of financial reporting standards, procedures, and compliance requirements.

The 2024 pay range for this position is $34.87 - $46.49 per hour ($72,530 - $96,699 annually).

Hours of work are Monday–Friday 8:30AM – 5:00PM, totaling 40 hours weekly with an unpaid 60-minute lunch.
