About the role

You will be a member of the Vattenfall international Compensation & Benefits team, which is organized in three teams, located in Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands, This role as Compensation & Benefits expert will be operating in the Dutch team which is located in Amsterdam. Including this position, the team currently consists of one teamlead and two Compensation & Benefits experts.

In your role you will provide guidance and expertise on key compensation and benefits matters to ensure our company remains competitive for talent attraction, engagement and retention. You will collaborate with HR and... Business leaders to ensure the implementation and management of compensation and benefits programs in the Netherlands consistent with the global C&B strategy and key business needs. As member of the International Vattenfall team of Compensation & Benefits, you also will participate in various internatal projects.

Your responsibilities

Being an expert you will be a trusted advisor for business HR, management and the (global) compensation and Benefits team in Vattenfall and:
• Carry out job evaluations in Mercer job evaluation methodology;
• Conduct benchmarks and analyze benchmarking information to assess current market pay levels on request of Business HR;
• Support and partly develop compensation & benefits training for international Business HR, managers and other target groups in Vattenfall;
• As part of the global team you will play an important role in various global projects. As specialist in job evaluation you will be part of the project team running the implementation of a global Job Architecture for the company;
• You will be contributing to the development of group standards and translate global policies and standards into the local regulations;
• Participating and contributing in projects to further increase alignment of Dutch benefit packages and mobility policies with Vattenfall’s mission statement. All in close cooperatin with both internal and external stakeholders
• Analyse HR and financial data to define the impact of new policies on the company and employees;
• Deliver input to negotiations on the collective labour or company agreements and implement new regulations, defined in the agreements;
• Provide management reporting information, data analysis and modelling, as required;
• Review, maintain and communicate reward policies and processes when needed and ensure proper execution into the Vattenfall administration. .


Amsterdam. Travelling to Stockholm or Berlin will be required from time to time.


Your profile as Compensation & Benefits Expert

We are looking for a pro-active expert with a broader knowledge of and experience with Compensation & Benefits. You are structured, result-oriented and have a hands-on mentality. You are approachable and feel comfortable working and communicating in an international fast-moving environment. Furthermore:
• You have a Master’s Degree within a relevant area (for example within Human Resources, Finance or Economics);
• You have at least 5 years of C&B experience preferably in an English-speaking, international environment;
• You have knowledge of and experience with (Mercer-) job evaluation methodologie;
• You have a good knowledge of Dutch labor regulations and are familiar with tax and international mobility regulations;
• You have a good understanding of market reward practices and practical experience with benchmarking and salary surveys;
• You have strong analytical skills and demonstrate good judgment to turn complex data into recommendations that support decision making;
• You have a high sense of responsibility, integrity and confidentiality;
• You can plan and prioritize your activities and work effectively with others to complete objectives;
• You have excellent MS Office skills;
• You have good written and spoken communication skills. Fluent English and Dutch are essential.

Our offer

The height of your salary is based on your education and relevant work experience. In addition to your salary, we offer a comprehensive secondary benefits package, the most important components of which are:
• End of year bonus of 4.5% of your annual salary and a profit sharing of up to 3.5% of your annual salary based on the results of Vattenfall Netherlands.
• NS Business card for commuting or a travel allowance of €0.23 per km up to a maximum of 50 km one way.
• 25 vacation days, 2.5 vitality days and for a 40-hour contract: 13 ADV (reduction of working hours) days.
• Choice budget, which allows you to purchase or sell extra vacation days, buy a e-bicycle, or simply receive it as addition pay.
• Education budget, because we believe it is important that you can continue to develop yourself.
