Water Treatment Engineer (ChemAqua)

Description
NCH Europe are hiring a Service Technician to work with our ChemAqua brand in Ireland.

You would be responsible for undertaking installation and service works for Water Treatment contracts. There will also be an element of sales responsibility in regards to identifying business opportunities at existing and prospective customer sites.

Please note - This is not an IT service technician vacancy. It is within a manufacturing capacity.

Key Responsibilities
KPIs:
• Meet and exceed targets in relation to service delivery.
• Accurate and timely completion and submission of any required reporting.
• Maintenance of Company provided equipment, specifically test kits, PPE and Company Vehicle.

Key Accountabilities:
• As part of a team of Technicians carry out bacteria sampling, temperature monitoring... and other such environmental hygiene monitoring tasks. Also carry out closed loop analysis, water tank and cooling tower cleaning and disinfection.
• Be responsible for installation and service relating to chemical dosing and pre-treatment equipment (softener, RO, chlorine dioxide, UV etc.).
• Removal of waste in accordance with health and safety legislation.
• Keep control of any equipment needed to carry out role and make replenishment orders as necessary. Ordering should be efficient and effective to ensure cost control is maintained at all times.
• Keep Company vehicle other tools / assets clean and in working order ready for performing any interventions in the field.
• Organize services and daily routing in the most effective way possible and in accordance with instructions from the Technical Services Manager.
• Make sure that all services and interventions in the field are pre-approved by the Technical Services Manager.
• Provide local remote phone technical support and helpdesk service for Sales Representatives and customers.
• Participate in training and study technical documentation / news to ensure always up to date with the latest technical information.
• Accurately complete any paperwork according to local work instructions and codes of practice.
• Report any major incidents, quality issues, customer feedback and other relevant information from the field to the Technical Services Manager.
• Promote and maintain good relations with customers, ensuring confidentiality, maintaining standards and promoting the good image of the Company.
• Promote and identify sales opportunities through to the Technical Services Manager
• Effectively liaise with other Company departments to ensure the best level of service is supplied to the customer.
• Ensure all aspects of health and safety requirements are complied with.
• Comply with quality standards and any applicable industry standards.
• Carry out any other duties in line with the scope of the post.

Experience / Knowledge
• Must possess a current full driving licence
• Previous experience in the water treatment industry and pre-treatment systems listed above is desirable.
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety policies and practices is essential.
• A Plumbing Trade or Sciences / Environmental Science / Engineering background would be desirable.
• Basic plumbing skills / electrical experience is essential.
• Previous customer service experience desirable.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications, using tablets and ‘apps’, customer relationship management software and sales order management systems
