Your future role

As Finance Director you will take on a new challenge and apply your... extensive financial management expertise in a cutting-edge field: the railway industry. You’ll work alongside analytical and strategic teammates. You'll lead and inspire a team of twelve finance professionals to continuously work on financial integrity and operational excellence within our organisation. Day-to-day, you’ll be present at our sites in Rotterdam, Ridderkerk and Utrecht and you will support your team. The team focuses on accounting, project - and business controlling. You will be responsible for the financial management of all services activities in the Benelux. In addition you will take care of corporate finance matters for our 35 Alstom entities around the world. By doing so you ensure seamless financial operations for Alstom.

We’ll look to you for:
• Taking care of the delivery of timely and accurate accounting reports and financial statements;
• Overseeing project controlling processes to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks;
• Working together closely with the director of services, serving as a key financial advisor and stakeholder liaison for the Benelux Services business;
• Contributing as an active member of the management team, influencing company-wide strategies and decisions;
• Providing visionary leadership and direction to the finance team, enhancing a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement;
• Using your technical accounting expertise to ensure reliable accounts and compliance with regulations;
• Have a strong connection with operational activities and an ability to translate financial insights into actionable business initiatives;
• Take the lead on the corporate finance matters related to 35 Alstom entities around the world.

All about you

We value passion and attitude. Our previous Finance Director worked with us for 6 years and he was able to grow with us and is now ready for a next step! Are you ready to follow in his footsteps and develop the business and yourself further as our new Finance Director? We have listed some skills that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
• Master’s degree in Accounting and Controlling;
• Familiarity with the Dutch financial regulations and reporting requirements;
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken; good understanding of the Dutch language (or appetite to learn fast)
• More than 10 years of professional experience with strong competences in accounting and project controlling;
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team of twelve;
• Knowledge of IFRS and Dutch GAAP;
• Preferably an accreditation in accounting;
• Good communication skills to engage with key stakeholders.
• Working closely with our Services Director Benelux
