Job title: SAP MM Consultant

Work Location: Hariss International Limited – Kampala, Uganda

Division / Department:IT

Reports to: ERP Support Manager

■ Full-time

■ Exempt

In this role, you will play a key part in optimizing our procurement, inventory management, and material planning processes through the effective use of the SAP MM module. You will work closely with various departments, including Purchasing, Warehouse, and Finance, to ensure a smooth and efficient supply chain operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

● Analyze and understand current business processes related to procurement, inventory management, and materials planning.

● Configure and customize the SAP MM module to align with Hariss International’s specific needs and industry best practices.

● Manage and maintain master data, including materials, vendors, and purchasing information records.

● Develop and implement strategies for optimizing purchasing processes, including purchase orders... requisitions, and quotations.

● Ensure accurate and timely inventory management through functionalities within SAP MM.

● Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide ongoing support to end-users on the SAP MM system.

● Stay up-to-date on the latest SAP MM functionalities and industry trends.

● And any other duties assigned by management.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

● Proven experience as an SAP MM Consultant (min. 3 years)

● Strong understanding of SAP MM functionalities, including procurement, inventory management, and materials planning.

● Experience in configuring and customizing SAP MM modules for food and beverage manufacturing companies (a plus).

● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with various departments.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

● SAP MM certification (e.g., C_MM_520) is a strong advantage.

Other Requirements:

● Knowledge of ABAP for basic scripting and configuration (optional, but valuable)

● Experience with integrations between SAP MM and other modules like FI (Finance) and CO (Controlling) (relevant for food manufacturing cost control)

● Understanding of Warehouse Management (EWM) functionalities within SAP (if Hariss utilizes a WM system)

● Experience in the food and beverage industry (a plus)

● Familiarity with Ugandan import/export regulations (helpful for procurement)

● Strong change management skills to guide users through process improvements

● Ability to translate technical concepts into clear and concise language for non-technical users

● Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

● Problem-solving skills specific to the challenges faced in the food and beverage supply chain (e.g., perishability, fluctuating demand)

● Proficiency in local languages (Luganda, Swahili) can be a benefit for better communication within the team (optional)

● Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

● Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

● Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
