Job Description:

Shufti Pro Limited are looking for an experienced and motivated professional to enhance our Finance team as a Senior Accountant to work on a part-time basis, as well as someone who will act as the Financial Controller for the US business. The candidate may be expected to travel occasionally but is expected to work remotely the majority of the time. Ideal candidates will demonstrate leadership qualities, a high level of attention to detail, and a good understanding of US GAAP accounting principles as well as US Federal and State taxes, although the company does utilise the services of external tax advisors. This senior role involves strategic oversight and execution of financial processes, including revenue, accounts payable, prepaids, intercompany, and other various areas as needed. This role reports directly to the CFO. The position offers a significant opportunity for leadership and career advancement within our dynamic and evolving team

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily financial transactions, including core revenue, company expenses and balance sheet reconciliations in respect of the US business operations of the Group.
• Lead the management and improvement of Accounts Receivable processes, including conducting collection efforts for overdue accounts and reviewing aging reports for accuracy and actionable insights.
• Direct the preparation and issuance of monthly invoices with regards to the US business, liaising with the finance team, ensuring compliance with contract terms and revenue recognition.
• Resolve complex billing disputes and payment discrepancies, applying advanced problem-solving skills to protect financial interests.
• Preparation of the financial statements in respect of the US business and subsidiary
• Coordinate and contribute to the month-end, quarterly and year-end close process, including detailed reconciliation of key financial accounts such as accrued expenses, prepaids, receivables, and payables.
• Lead commission calculation in respect of US sales force.
• Perform payroll processing for the US business operations, liaising with the PEO.
• Manage intercompany balance reconciliation and billings.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors in relation to the US business operations of the Group, and ensure that the appropriate filings are made on a timely basis
• Act as a primary contact for external audit and tax preparation relevant to the US business, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available.
• Lead the preparation of 1099-Misc filings and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
• Drive special projects that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function, demonstrating leadership and strategic thinking.
• Assist the CFO & CEO in the development of OKRs for the business.

Monitor performance of the business v forecast/budget.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with a proven track record in an accounting role, preferably in a SaaS business.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and a strong ability to apply accounting principles in practice.
• Good Excel skills and proficiency in accounting software and systems, particularly Xero.
• Good understanding of US Federal Tax as well as a basic knowledge of sales tax for a number of US States.
• Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and persuasively.
• Proactive, with a strong initiative and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced setting and to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $42,000 - $45,000 (on a part time basis
