Purpose of the Role:

This role is responsible for the success (on-time, on budget, to quality and customer expectations) of one or a number of internal or external projects/deployments. As a core role in the organization with responsibility for leading the vast majority of deployment/projects/program workstreams, it requires demonstrated ability in a number of management competencies as well as advanced technical skills. Financial responsibility at this level is at $1m, direct revenue generation of $2m and a project team of 10.

Education and Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technical equivalent, Master's degree preferred

• Formal project management training and certification

• PMP/PRINCE certification required|/| Experience At least 5 years or more of Project Management experience with full budget responsibility in a commercial environment experience in IT solutions provider environment with knowledge of... SITA-like products and underlying technologies an advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge and understanding of IT and specifically the ATI industry and economic drivers.

• Strong project financial management experience including budgeting, estimating and reporting.

• Advanced user of MS Office applications, and collaboration tools (sharepoint).

• Very competent in MS Project and/or other project management tools.

Required Skills

· Bachelor's degree Information Technology or ICT or technical equivalent, Master's degree preferred

· Formal project management training and certification

· PMP/PRINCE certification required

· 8 to 10 years experience in project management

· 3 to 5 years working in air transport or airport terminal business

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable to sales and bid/commercial teams during the pre-contract phase for inputs ensuring that the projects are realistic and achievable in delivery in terms of scope, budget, quality, feasibility and time.

• Lead the planning process and own the project implementation including generation of the project/resource plans, budget and risk register as per client methodology and interlock with product/partners/resource pool owners.

• Ensure line management is appropriately briefed, aligned and engaged on the delivery implications/requirements of the project with a special focus on the risks and mitigations.

• Once approved, ensure complete handover from the bid team and end-to-end be accountable to manage the delivery of projects as per defined client project management methodology to deliver the agreed scope right first time.

• If responsible for a deployment activity, accountable for problem analysis and resolution, including managing escalations and creating/managing action plans.

• Proactively take leadership to manage the contract during delivery including risks and issues and take ownership of escalations whilst ensuring customers fulfill their obligations and recover costs in case of lapses.

• Lead, motivate, coach and direct the project team and monitor and manage the performance of 3rd party suppliers, both internal and external, in order to secure the delivery targets.

• Ensure successful and complete handover to operations and project closure once the project is delivered including lessons learned.

Working with the Customer

• Establish/lead project governance internally/externally to ensure stakeholders are aligned on project status, issues, risks and that accountability is assigned to manage these whilst effectively managing change.

• Strive to ensure customer value is generated throughout the project and support Management in ensuring client meets its commercial objectives for the project and develops its relationship with the customer.

• Demonstrate commercial focus by identifying opportunities for "upsell" on the project directly or with the customer more generally and progressing these with the appropriate governance.

• If responsible for a deployment activity, accountable for problem analysis and resolution, including managing escalations and creating/managing action plans.

Budgeting & Reporting

• Manage project budget including Profit & Loss and cash and submit monthly Project Financial forecasts during the full life cycle so that profit margins are maintained or increased.

• Manage resources proactively in collaboration with resource pool managers to ensure maximum utilization. Represent the project externally and internally by communicating and reporting on project status to the customer and internally to senior stakeholders via the established governance and internal processes (Project Reviews/BOT).
