In order to reinforce its team in Brussels, one of our prestigious client active in the financial lease sector is looking for a motivated Credit Analyst.

As Credit Analyst

You will work for a service leasing company located in Brussels (Belgium), which is a subsidiary of a large Belgian banking group. It provides financial leasing services (company vehicles, production lines, solar panels, computer equipment, buildings, etc.) to professional clients. The subsidiary currently has a team of approximately 100 employees.

You are responsible of analyzing, giving an opinion and, depending on the importance of the credit, deciding or co-deciding in committee all the credit requests in the segment concerned, taking into account the objectives set by the company in terms of profitability, risk management, credit policy, and compliance rules.

You oversee the risk management for the lease credit portfolio in the Retail, Midcorp & Corp and Project Finance segments.

Team and environment

As... Credit Analyst you report directly to the Chief Risk officer, member of the management committee.

This position requires a lot of autonomy but also a lot of interaction with various stakeholders including Sales team (Front Office) and also cross-functionally within the Group.

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the ideal candidate should be able to perform the following duties:
• Collect and assess financial data from existing and potential customers (Retail, MidCorp/Corp),
• Prepare reports on the financial situation of customers.
• Prepare and gather a complete case to be submitted to the Credit Committee, if necessary, in close collaboration with the Sales department (Front Office).
• Monitoring of the clients portfolio (changes, updates,…)
• Think with and advise on risk management for the Credit Committee
• You take initiatives for continuous optimization of efficiency, customer satisfaction, and realization of the company values.

Desired skills and experience:
• University Degree preferably in an economic orientation
• Good knowledge of financial analysis (balance sheets, ratios, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of legislation relating to companies, including accounting and tax matters
• Experience in analyzing credit requests for Mid Corp/Corp and present them to the Credit Committee.
• Experience in detecting latent risks (portfolio monitoring and review)
• Critical attitude and oriented towards finding a solution
• Ability to analyze and synthesize, sense of responsibility
• Ability to communicate with all stakeholders
• Resistance to stress
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, internally and externally.
• French or Dutch speaking with a solid command of the other national language
