Community Support Worker

Haddon House Short Break Service is looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible staff who would enjoy supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. The service provides short breaks for people with learning disabilities in purpose built accommodation.

Support is required on a 24 hour basis working a range of shifts including, evenings, weekends, sleep-in duty and statutory holidays. However, we are currently looking for someone who could work Monday to Friday from 7 am to 11 am. Our mornings can be busy and fast paced as everyone needs to get ready for the day ahead. Morning staff are expected to help and support people with their morning routine, involving personal care, breakfast , and medication etc. You will always be working... alongside other members of staff team and ensuring individual's needs are met in a person centred way and positive outcomes are achieved.

Key Accountabilities
• To provide support using person centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
• To provide support with dignity and respect in order to meet day to day needs, including personal care supports.
• To work in accordance with relevant national legislation and service specific policies and practice guidelines at all times.

Skills and Experience
• Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability and/or mental illness is desirable but not essential as you will be given the necessary support and training to undertake this role.
• Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent at the time of appointment will be given the opportunity to complete QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Please note this training will be funded by Lancashire County Council.

This position is part time, please note the salary quoted is the full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.
