Our Commodities and Energy Trading Advisory practice are looking for an experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join the team

Our Commodities Trading clients are at the sharp end of unprecedented market volatility and uncertainty, and seek our help in tackling their biggest challenges such as shaping and navigating market reform, transforming customer operations, or helping develop and deliver their net zero strategy. Our clients have rated us number one in the sector and choose to work with us because of our deep industry insight and our hands-on, pragmatic delivery approach.

What You Will Be Doing
• Advise senior client leaders within the energy sector with a focus on Gas/LNG and gases decarbonisation on business strategy development and implementation.
• Working with energy traders, utilities, IOCs, energy consumers and financial institutions with new market entry, trading and risk management capability, decarbonisation and asset commercialisation and operationalisation strategies.
• Leading major client engagements (managing the delivery lifecycle, managing teams, managing client relationship and engagement).
• Leading and supporting business development (including marketing and prospecting; proposal writing and contracting).
• Taking ownership of IP development, market facing initiatives and being part of building a sustainable business.
• Supporting the alignment with other Baringa teams in the work we do – including power, hydrogen, climate change modelling, and geographical offices.
• Responsible for scoping and delivering complex multi-faceted change programmes under challenging market conditions, frequently in industry impacting and high visibility areas, leading blended project teams of Baringa and client personnel.
• Coach and develop junior staff both directly and indirectly, fostering an inclusive and high performance culture.
• Play an active role in Baringa’s Commodity and Energy Trading leadership team, contributing to group strategy and managing key opportunities and risks. As part of this you will:
• Lead a key People initiative, making Baringa a better and more inclusive place to work;
• Lead a key Commercial initiative, driving Baringa’s growth and client impact;
• Play a leading role in one or more client strategic accounts; and
• Be an active and visible leader for a division of c.100 team members

Your Skills And Experience
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in energy trading, commercial strategy consulting, or related roles within the energy or commodities sector.
• Proven track record of working in a commercial/trading related role or providing strategic advisory services to clients in the energy sector, with a focus on commercial strategy development, risk management, and portfolio optimisation.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Desirable experience in LNG, Gas and/or decarbonisation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Experienced leader of high performing teams, demonstrating strong coaching and performance management skills and building a strong sense of inclusivity and community.
• Experience with business development and comfortable in the sales cycle.
• Consulting experience preferred.
