• A Bachelor of Psychology degree (BPsych) or a Bachelor of Arts Honours

degree in Psychology (B.A. Hons Psychology)
• Registration as a Registered Counsellor with the Health Professions Council of

South Africa (HPCSA)
• Valid South African Drivers Licence

Core attributes:
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel & Outlook)
• Maintenance of high professional and ethical standards
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to work with people

• Conduct psychometric tests to clients referred to her/him by the professional

staff of the Gender Desk and Centre for Student Counselling and Development
• Write accurate reports about the clients that she/he tests and direct these

reports to the referring instances
• Monitor the psychometric work of the Interns at the Centre
• Assist the Interns in the interpretation of the results of the tests which they carry

• Assist the Gender Desk Director and Administrator to keep the records... in the

state as prescribed by the Professional Board for Psychology and the Health

Professions Council of South Africa
• Assist all the Gender Desk Director and Administrator in capturing data for

research purposes
• Conduct research for the provision of a sound basis for professional activities

as well as contribution to scientific knowledge in the field of human behavior

and project management
• Give guidance and counselling to clients experiencing relatively minor problems
• Assist in coordinating school and community outreach activities
• Give counselling to clients at the Gender Desk Office.
• Screen, assess and monitor referred clients.
• Acquire, retrieve, store, and disseminate information to students and the

university community
• Manage the caseload
• Develop, coordinate and manage Gender Desk Office projects
