ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a motivated Associate Frontend Engineer to join The nabONE Service / Platform is used by our internal banker colleague and employees to provide one-stop services to NAB Customer (for example, Home Loan Application, Small Business Loan Application, Account Details and Transaction and so on). The nabONE Business Service is a Top 47 Service / CAT A with a very high requirement of availability and resilience. It is being used by 12,000 employees monthly. Any reputation damage from our customer, regulator reporting might cause a loss more than 25m revenue impact to our company. Our system is not working independently - it has a number of dependencies / downstream services that support backend / database capability, for example: Digital Access Foundation, Account Management, PEGA etc..

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, review, implement, and manage React.js application code and services for the production and pre-release environments;
• Participate... in Agile software development, prototyping, and code review with international development teams to build scalable microservices-based products;
• Understand the requirements of the customer or business and utilize this knowledge to develop applications that are consistent with this;
• Work with delivery teams to achieve success through development using CI/CD and DevOps practices, processes and tooling;
• Provide robust coding practices, solid unit/component test coverage, and debugging code.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Must have
• +2 years’ experience working in Software Development
• Solid experience in JavaScript ES6/TypeScript working with React.JS
• Good at all areas of web development (HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Foundation, JQuery, JSON) including accessibility and security concerns
• Solid experience in modern front-end build pipelines and tools (e.g. Git, Webpack, Gulp, NPM)
• Understanding of RESTful APIs design (GraphQL desirable) and Microservicesbased systems
• Solid experience in Agile (Scrum model) development environments
• Well-versed in writing structured, well-documented, maintainable, and clean code
• Excellent in problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, and Agile methodology;
• Strong English communication skills (both verbal & written), especially in the global software development environment.

Nice-to-have
• Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry;
• Experience in using front-end testing and test runners (eg. Selenium, Mocha/Chai/Jest).
