About The Opportunity

We are searching for two senior support workers who have the drive, commitment and... passion to work across the Child Protection and NDIS sectors to provide care and support for clients who live with disabilities.

As a senior support worker you will be:
• Providing direct support for clients with high and complex needs, including those with:
• high intense supports: requiring working to a mealtime preparation and delivery plan and performing enteral feeding
• behaviours of concern requiring working to a positive behaviour support plan and using authorised restrictive practices.
• Mentoring and guiding other support workers in their skills development
• Managing a small caseload of clients with less complex needs, under the guidance and support of our case managers.

Skills and Experiences:

What You Bring
• A strong sense of alignment to our values and mission.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as a shift worker (which includes a rotating on-call roster) and bring a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
• 2 or more years of industry experience in either the disability or child protection sector, both is an advantage.
• Minimum of certificate IV in Disability; Child, Youth and Family Intervention; or related. Advanced study in a related field is an advantage.
• Highly developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills to effectively respond to the needs of clients and staff.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, self organisation and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

What You Need
• A current Disability Worker Screening Clearance Card & Blue Card (working with Children) is required before you can commence work.
• Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS 2)
• Mobile Phone
• Current unrestricted Queensland Drivers Licence and insured vehicle

• Remuneration at SCHADS award at Level 3.3-3.4 (dependent on experience), plus super
• Security of permanent part-time contract with extra hours if you want them
