Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Hybrid (80% remote with office attendance in Dublin required)

Our client is currently seeking a talented Database Administrator to play a pivotal role in their technology team. You will possess specialised expertise in database management and play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and peak performance of essential databases. Your collaborative spirit will be vital to working alongside the DBA team and other IT departments, enhancing the efficiency of projects, and optimising our client's database environment for success.

About the Role
• Manage and maintain databases, including Oracle, using technologies such as RAC, ASM, and Oracle Appliances (ODA).
• Participate in an on-call rota, ensuring database security, availability, and performance.
• Proactively monitor and fine-tune database performance for optimal responsiveness.
•... Develop and maintain robust backup, recovery, and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate closely with developers to implement database changes and troubleshoot issues.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing initiatives.
• Stay at the forefront of database technology advancements and best practices.
• Learn and work with SQL Server, Progress, and Postgres.

What You Will Bring:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in managing Oracle databases and additional experience with SQL Server, Progress, and Postgres, is advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in Oracle database administration, including RAC, ASM, and Oracle Appliances (ODA).
• Proven ability to optimise database performance and resolve complex performance bottlenecks.
• Solid understanding of database backup, recovery, and maintenance procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A passion for continuous learning and professional development.
