Job Title: Intermediate Professional Quantity Surveyor

Location: Kirikiriroa/Hamilton CBD

Role Overview: The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in estimating, cost planning, and contract administration across a wide array of projects. This role offers exposure to various sectors, including education, commercial, and heritage projects, with potential for growth into property financing responsibilities as experience develops.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications and Experience:
• Relevant QS qualification
• 1-2 years of experience in Estimating and Cost Planning, preferably from a PQS firm
• Strong understanding of Construction Contracts and the Construction Contracts Act (CCA)
• Professional demeanour with excellent communication skills
• Accurate and efficient task handling abilities
• Ability to thrive under pressure and embrace challenges
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and CostX or similar software
Responsibilities:
• Conduct estimating and cost planning for projects from concept to detailed estimates
• Provide project contract administration support, including reviewing and approving progress claims
• Attend site meetings and conduct site visits as necessary
• Review main contractor monthly progress claims and negotiate variations
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and tender documents
• Assist in financial reporting activities
• Participate in final account negotiations
