Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the financial activities of the organization. This position will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure compliance with accounting standards and support the overall financial health of the organization. This position will also be responsible for recording newly acquired capital assets, tracking existing assets and... accounting for dispositions. In addition, the individual is responsible for as hoc requests such as preparing financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Duties And Responsibilities
• Complete general ledger balancing and financial statement preparation.
• Completes monthly accounting close, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and accountant reconciliations.
• Preparation of bank reconciliations
• Ensure coding to the GL is accurate and timely.
• Research and resolve outstanding reconciling items and related issues.
• Assist in annual year-end close; provides outside auditors with assistance and gathers necessary information and documents to perform the annual audit.
• Financial analysis/Ad hoc request as needed.
• Document and update accounting processes into accounting policies
• Process monthly Sales Use Tax
• Ensure compliance with credit card policy and updating coding on a monthly basis.
• Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support.
• Managing expenses and working closely with other departments to ensure they are within budget.
• Manage the capital expenditure process including monitoring project requests, recording asset purchases, reporting, and completing external filings.
• Maintain depreciation schedules.
• Reconciliation and reporting of CIP and capital assets.
• Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

Skills, Experience, And Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
• Knowledge of sound generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• 2-5 years of experience
• Excellent communication, detail, and organizational skills
• Experience with databases, statistics accounting software and spreadsheets
• Exceptional computer skills; including office suite of products.
• Strong analytical, time management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail
