Principal Regeneration Officer

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

Brent Council is looking for a creative and experienced regeneration practitioner to join the Regeneration... Service. We want to hear from people passionate about the role that regeneration can play in positively changing places. Brent is one of the most dynamic outer London boroughs and we want to maximise the investment for inclusive regeneration, growth and create positive benefits for all our communities.

The Principal Regeneration Officer role focus is on the boroughs’ growth areas, housing zones and the new creative enterprise zone. Working with landowners, developers and stakeholders you will ensure the physical, economic and social regeneration of the borough benefits local residents, businesses and our diverse communities, and in so doing reduces inequalities. Community engagement, place-making and promotion of growth and opportunity areas to attract investment into the borough will be central to your work in the Regeneration Service.

The Person

Taking a lead role in the design, development, delivery and management of high profile regeneration programmes and projects, you will be expected to take ownership and drive schemes forward from inception through to successful delivery. You must be alive to opportunities to bid for funding, be able to manage complex projects, work effectively across the organisation and with external partners, and consult with businesses, residents and the community to deliver tangible and high quality outcomes. You will manage multidisciplinary consultant teams and budgets, deal at all levels, and thrive under pressure. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic development and direction of the Regeneration Service.

Closing date: Tuesday 21 May 2024 (23:00)
