Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH invites applications for the position of Unit Secretary (Administrative Office Specialist III) in the Nursing Department.

Directly accountable to the RNMI/RNMII for the provision of Administrative/Program. Support services in an assigned area. Facilitates written and verbal communication that assures efficient operation of unit activities to include receptionist duties on a daily basis. Provides personnel processes to all nursing staff in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assists with the management of routine administrative and/or patient care activities of the assigned area when requested (i.e., data compilation and report generation, supplies and equipment inventory). Provides clerical support to special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous clerical experience is required.

• Extensive experience utilizing Microsoft Office (including email applications) is required.
