Summer Intern (Science Education)1

Salary:
$11,200 per month

Entry Requirements:
Applicants should -

(a) be permanent residents of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;

(b) be full-time students of post-secondary institutions (except final year graduates);

(c) have attained Level 3 or above in at least one science subject in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent;

(d) be major in Science related subjects, such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Education related subjects such as General Studies;

(e) possess good knowledge in computer applications (including Chinese input method); and

(f) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English.

Duties:
To provide administrative support to:

(a) To assist in updating webpages of resources of Science Education Section;

(b) To assist in organising professional development programmes... for teachers; and

(c) To assist in the production of resource materials for the curricula of Science Education.

Terms of Appointment:
Successful interns will be engaged on non-civil service contract terms for a period of not more than three months from June to August 2024.

General Notes:
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/ Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the enquiry address below.

Hong Kong students studying in local post-secondary institutions or in non-local post-secondary institutions should complete the application form and send to the address below on or before the closing date (according to postmark). Applicants should state clearly on their application form the post they apply for, e.g. "Summer Intern [(Science Education)1]". They should also state "Application for the post of Summer Intern" on the envelope.

To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to this Bureau and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Interviews will normally be conducted in early June 2024. Applicants may assume that their applications are unsuccessful if they have not been invited for interview by mid of June 2024.
