The British Embassy School Ankara is an award-winning British International School situated within the grounds of the British Embassy in Ankara, Turkey. The school follows both the English National Curriculum and the International Primary & Middle Years Curriculum for pupils from Nursery to Year 9. From September 2024 we will open our first Year 10 cohort.

BESA is currently seeking an outstanding Primary Teacher (KS2) to join our team from September 2024. This position is a full-time role and is initially contracted until the end of August 2026.

Our package also includes provision for up to 2 dependent children.

The successful applicant will:

• Be a fully qualified teacher (Bachelor of Education or PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status)

• Be an experienced primary teacher with at least 2 years experience working in a UK or British International School. Experience of teaching within Key Stage 2 is essential.

• Be experienced in delivery of the English National Curriculum KS2 Programmes of Study

• Have excellent planning, organisation and communication skills

• Be able to work as part of a team

• Be confident in the use of technology to enhance children’s learning

• Be able to lead a curriculum subject within the school and be a model of good practice

• Be committed to regular and ongoing professional development

• Be a fluent English speaker
