Position: Head of UX Design & UX Research

Reporting to Director of Product

Contract type: Full Time, Permanent, Remote

About the role

This is an incredible opportunity to join Cera as our first Head of UX Design & UX Research, taking the lead on establishing and growing our UX design and research team. Your work will have a huge impact on the way that care is experienced and delivered. The role is a hybrid role with an expectation that you will frequently visit the London office to work closely with stakeholders and collaborators.

The Head of role plays a pivotal role in creating Cera’s solutions for our carers and customers. A key focus of this role is to ensure that Cera’s product experiences are the best that they possibly can be, so that Cera can achieve its goal of providing great care to all of our customers whilst improving the experience of everyone involved in care delivery. You will manage our small but growing team of UX Designers as well as being hands-on in... delivering UX Design yourself. You will work with our engineering teams (on and off shore) and product teams as well as getting close to the operational staff and carers who use our products every day. This role requires building a deep knowledge of our processes and a passion for user centred design and its application to our technology.

About you

As our first Head of UX Design & UX Research, you will establish and embed UX Design and Research within Cera. You’ll provide mentorship and leadership to the UX team. As the team is still in its early stages you will also be comfortable with getting deep into the delivery of UX projects yourself. You’ll have the ability to juggle multiple projects and will understand how to prioritise your work and time based on an understanding of the impact of your deliverables to your stakeholders and projects.

You thrive in mission-driven organizations, working with collaborative teams who are passionate about utilising technology and building products to better the world around us. You will have a background as a Senior UX Designer for around eight years and will champion best UX practice. You have the ability to stay laser focused on our end users, conducting internal and external research and competitor analysis to ensure our engineering and teams are building useful and delightful solutions to deliver our mission.

Role and responsibilities:
• Lead, grow, mentor and inspire our team of UX Designers
• Collect and analyze feedback from customers (including carers and branch staff), stakeholders and other teams to shape UX design requirements, features and products
• Work with qualitative and quantitative data and carry out behaviour analysis to identify opportunities to improve and optimise our experiences
• Understand our strategy and vision and the impact that experience design can bring to our products
• High quality and timely delivery of UX artefacts through every stage of the product and user centred design lifecycle including
• Sketches
• Wireframes
• Low and high fidelity prototypes
• Final development-ready designs
• Take the lead on design thinking, ideation sessions and collaborative workshops
• Work with our Product teams to ensure our products are easy to use and appropriate for the end user
• Keeping close to the market, conducting competitor analysis and ensuring we’re constantly innovating our experiences and products
• Work with senior management to drive experience innovation in our products.
• Make creative recommendations to expand the product base and vision
