The Financial Accountant will be part of the insurance accounting team and will be required to complete various tasks across different areas of the team. They will work closely will the Treasury team as well as the Operations team. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that all financial data in the company is recorded and reported accurately to multiple stakeholders. They will work mostly in MS Excel, Sapiens and SAP Business One.

Key to this role is the ability to learn quickly and ask questions in order to improve knowledge of the processes in place and suggest improvements where these are possible. Good communication skills as well as an ability to think critically and analytically to identify patterns and relationships between different pieces of information are also essential.

Candidates should be either part of newly qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

Key Responsibilities:
• Preparing premium invoices and commission statements... across approx. 20 business lines and countries and investigating and analysing differences between invoices and data.
• Uploading data to SAP Business One general ledger and reconciling all general ledger accounts.
• Monthly and quarterly reporting to shareholders using SAP-BFC and SAP BPC online reporting tools.
• Preparation and upload of quarterly and annual Solvency II QRTs using Invoke tool.
• Involvement in projects from a Finance perspective to ensure all process in place prior to launching new products.
• Reconciliation of claims and cancellation data from insurance system to bank accounts.
• Assisting the Finance Manager in preparing reports & reconciliations and responding to group queries

Core Competencies:
• Experience working in the insurance / financial services industries highly beneficial.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office (specifically MS Excel).
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work under own initiative to achieve objectives.
• Ability to learn quickly and ask questions when any instructions are unclear.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information in a clear and concise fashion.
• Strong organisation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with people in different teams with no background in Finance.
• Understanding of Solvency II, IFRS 9 and IFRS 17.
• Team oriented and outgoing
