jobs description

Are you someone ready to drive an impactful change?

If so, we'd love for you to join our vibrant team at Factbird as our Chief Financial Officer. You will play a crucial role in the financial management and strategic planning our SaaS company, especially during a period of rapid growth and potential M&A activity.

Your unique blend of analytical skills, technical know-how, operational expertise, and visionary thinking will help take our finance team to the next level. Together, we'll develop and maintain our cutting-edge reporting cockpit, as well as streamline our financial reporting setup. Want to be a part of something great?

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a forward-thinking, inquisitive finance manager who will manage and develop our financial reporting while being the key driver in our own future digital journey. This role requires a strong financial and strategic leader with a deep understanding of SaaS business models, financial analysis, and a track record of... successfully guiding companies through growth phases.

Aside from having a solid background in accounting, controlling, and financial reporting - we're also looking for someone who likes data and digitalization. To be successful, you must always keep your overviews relevant, up-to-date, and forward-looking.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
• Proven experience as a CFO or a senior financial executive in a SaaS company.
• Experience in guiding companies through rapid growth phases, ideally from a similar headcount range.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
• In-depth knowledge of SaaS business models and metrics.
• Experience in fundraising and working with investors.
• Familiarity with M&A processes and strategies.
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Familiarity with financial technologies and data analytics.

What you will be doing

Financial Strategy and Planning
• Develop and execute the financial strategy that aligns with the company's growth objectives and long-term vision.
• Create and manage financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
• Provide financial guidance to the executive team and board of directors.

Fundraising and Capital Management:
• Evaluate financing options and manage relationships with investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure efficient capital utilization and maintain a healthy balance between equity and debt financing.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports to the executive team and stakeholders.
• Analyze financial data to identify key performance indicators and provide actionable insights for decision-making.

Cash Flow Management:
• Manage cash flow and liquidity to support the company's operations, investments, and growth initiatives.
• Implement effective working capital management strategies.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
• Participate and manage M&A activities, including due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and integration planning.
• Identify potential acquisition targets or strategic partnerships that align with the company's growth goals. Includes managing and participating in post-merger activities.

Risk Management and Compliance:
• Assess and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.

Team Leadership and Development:
• Build and lead a high-performing finance team.
• Mentor and develop finance professionals to support the company's growth.

Technology and Data Integration:
• Leverage financial technology and analytics tools to enhance financial operations and decision-making.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure seamless data integration and reporting.

What You will be valued for
• Wherever you go, you carry a positive attitude, a can-do attitude, and an authentic sense of kindness.
• You're honest, trustworthy, and thoughtful as a team member.
• You have authentic kindness, that goes beyond politeness; it involves genuine care and concern for others. It means treating people with respect, empathy, and understanding, not just as a social convention but because you genuinely value their well-being.
