Job Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as National Archives Interns. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of archival work and cultural heritage preservation while contributing to meaningful projects that promote public access to historical records.

Job Responsibilities:
• Assist with the organization, cataloging, and preservation of archival materials.
• Conduct research on various topics related to UK history, government, and culture.
• Support outreach initiatives to engage the public with our... collections through events, exhibitions, and educational programs.
• Collaborate with staff members on special projects aimed at enhancing accessibility and usability of archival resources.
• Contribute to the development of digital content and online resources to facilitate remote access to archival materials.
• Attend training sessions and workshops to further develop skills in archival management, research methodologies, and cultural heritage preservation.

Job Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant academic program (e.g., history, library science, archival studies, cultural heritage management).
• Strong interest in UK history, archival research, and cultural heritage preservation.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in research methods and information literacy.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Prior experience or coursework in archival practices, museum studies, or related fields is desirable but not required.
