Title: Automation control Engineer

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 17:00

Location: San Rafael de Alajuela, 800m west of Panasonic

Responsibilities:

Design and Develop Electrical Control Systems for Automated Machines
• Create electrical solutions that enable efficient control of automated machines.
• Program and configure controllers and automation systems.

Perform Testing and Diagnostics
• Conduct tests and diagnostics to identify and resolve issues in control systems.

Collaborate with the Engineering Team
• Integrate control systems with mechanical and electronic components of automated machines.

Document and Maintain Technical Records
• Keep detailed records of control system specifications and changes.

Implement Improvements and Updates
• Optimize control system performance through enhancements and updates.

Provide Technical Support to Clients:
• Assist clients with electrical control system... inquiries and troubleshooting.

Train Technical and Maintenance Staff
• Educate personnel on the proper use and maintenance of electrical control systems.

Complexity:

working with complex electrical control systems, requiring a strong technical knowledge and the ability to solve technical problems.

Responsibility:

Be responsible for ensuring that electrical control systems meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards. They are also accountable for ensuring the proper functioning of automated machines and providing technical support to clients.

Supervision Exercised:

Supervision of technical staff during project implementation.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in designing, programming, and implementing electrical control systems in the field of automated machinery.

Academic Formation:

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related

Competencies:
• Advanced Knowledge of Electrical and Electronic Control Systems: Proficiency in understanding and working with complex electrical control systems.Familiarity with electronic components and their integration into control systems.
• PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) Programming Experience: Ability to program and configure PLCs and HMIs for automation and control. Programing in Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 Designer, Factory Talk View SE and ME.
• Advance knowlodge of Vision System integrations, Programing experience in Cognex software and related programs.
• Understanding of Electrical Safety Standards and Regulations: Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance with electrical regulations.
• Interpretation and Design of Electrical Schematics and Control Diagrams: Skill in reading and creating electrical schematics and control diagrams.
• Project management for the assigned projects, track of part to order, manufacturing steps, risk assessment, implementation and run process.
• Industrial Communication Networks Knowledge: Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profibus, or Modbus.
• Testing and Diagnostics of Electrical and Electronic Equipment: Ability to perform tests and diagnose issues in electrical and electronic components.
• Knowledge of Electric Drive Systems: Understanding of electric motors (AC and DC), variable frequency drives, and other drive systems.
• Continuous Learning and Technological Updates: Keeping up-to-date with advancements in electrical control and industrial automation.
• Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams: Working effectively with mechanical and software engineers on project coordination.
• Technical Documentation Skills: Competence in creating technical reports, manuals, and specifications.
