About the team The energy transition is more than ever a reality and is extremely demanding for the power system. The change for Power Network Operators, Power Suppliers and Industry is the most important since its origin. Laborelec as a leading expertise and research centre in electrical power technology is at the centre of this exciting change and is looking for two Junior to Medior engineer profiles willing to develop an electrical expert career in the field of Electrical Power Systems (network and power quality, power flow and transient phenomena, compatibility issues, …),. The work domain will be critical electrical networks in industry, utilities (DSO’s, TSO’s, micro-grid developers), renewable power (hydro, wind, solar, …) & battery storage, thermal and nuclear generation worldwide. What you’ll be doing Your responsibilities as Power Networks Engineer You are part of the Expert Team of Power Networks at LaborelecYou perform Projects and Power Networks Studies (simulations, complex electrical measurements, …) both for classical grid as for micro gridsYou develop Laboratory Tests and Field Measurements setups and you coordinate various Monitoring and Measurement activities (electrical measurements, both online and offline)You develop and manage Products and Services in the proposed domains for our customers.You develop a Strong Relationship with our Clients: Grid Operators, Industrial Parties and different business lines inside the ENGIE Group.You perform Root Cause Analysis in a temporary team of electrical experts in case of electrical incidents to compile expert reporting You will work alongside a supportive team, and will have access to professional development opportunities to help you grow in your career. Have an industrial or civil engineer degree with a specialisation in electricity or in electro-mechanics with a maximum of 8 years of experience in the Energy sectorFeel strongly motivated to develop a high level of expertise in electrical power systems, power electronics and electrical equipment and to work in an office, in a laboratory and in the field as well.Have some competences and/or the willingness to develop further in network dynamics, integration of renewable energy sources into the Grid, Power Quality, EMC, Power Electronics.Have experience and/or the willingness to develop further with one or more software tools like Matlab, Phyton, Simulink, ANSYS, Opal-RT, NEPLAN, EMTP-RV,VISION,… Dispose knowledge and/or the willingness to develop further in communication protocols (IEC61850, IEC104, Profibus, RS232, …)have as strong customer focus, a keen awareness of economic and financial impacts and a natural business feeling (value creation, …) Have team spirit, initiative and the ability to develop synergies both internally with other competence centres and with external partners (for example, manufacturers, universities and other research centres)Master Dutch, French and English (other languages are a plus)Agree to travel for short missions within Belgium, the Netherlands, Europe and outside Europe Here's a taste of what Laborelec offers you Flexible Working Environment: A green campus and hybrid workspace (3 days home working/week) offering flexibility for a good work/life balance Employee Resource Groups: An exciting position in a leading research and expertise centre, with the possibility of further career development within ENGIE. An inspiring work environment: with ambitious colleagues and from different backgroundLearning & Development: Growth is a big reason people choose to join our team.
