The QAQC Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality compliance in the processing plant and also making sure that the laboratory and product screening sections of the plant are run in a safe and efficient manner according to production plans whilst initiating and implementing continuous improvement projects.

• Ensure that QAQC objectives of the processing plant are met by performing quality audits, including reviews, data monitoring, reporting and site inspections.
• Continuously monitor the performance of the product screening section (SANGATIS) ensuring that safety is always adhered to.
• Provide technical assistance to the laboratory crew and dry screening technicians for the optimisation of the laboratory and dry screening circuit.
• Attend daily production meetings and provide feedback on product quality as well as feed and tailings characterisation.
• Liaise with marketing team and other relevant... government departments to ensure that marketing samples are prepared and dispatched on time.
• Continually monitor the performance of the laboratory and swiftly address all issues to ensure that results turnaround time is maintained.
• Manage the QAQC methods and records.
• Carry out any other laboratory test works as required.
• Develop strategies for resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the laboratory and dry screening areas.
• Manage the laboratory and dry screening plant consumables.
• Contribute to daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and planning.
• Work closely with the process engineering team to ensure optimum production is achieved and maintained.
• Ensure all sampling equipment and other instruments related to QAQC in the processing plant are operating at optimum levels.
• Organise QAQC surveys and test-work to optimise operating conditions.

• BSc Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering / Process Engineering.
• 2 + years' experience in a similar role preferably with exposure to the laboratory and QAQC systems.
• Sound knowledge of QAQC methods and plant audits.
• Graphite processing experience will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proactiveness and proven capacity to think conceptually and make assertive decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a team.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel etc
