POSITION SUMMARY: Toprovide Counseling services to clients referred to the Mental Health Program.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• To know and functionwithin standards of professional competence.
• To participate as amember of a multi-disciplinary health care team of Mental Health Program.
• To complete psychosocial assessments and plan for effective intervention strategies forclients diagnosed with a serious mental illness.
• To evaluate thepsychosocial situation through interviews with the client, family membersand/or friends.
• To provide individualpsychotherapy for referred clients.
• To inform themulti-disciplinary team and relevant community agencies of any changesthat may affect them.
• To collect data forclient tracking and performance indicator purposes.
• To consult regularlywith members of the multi-disciplinary team regarding client status andservice needs.
• To maintain effectivepublic relations by making mental health resources known to the communityand by utilizing... resources of the community for the benefit of the client.
• To recognize anyphysical or emotional problem outside the scope of Social Work knowledgeand refer to another professional staff member.
• Other duties asassigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Master’s in Social Work.
• Must be certified withthe Ontario College of Certified Social Workers and Social ServiceWorkers.
• Working knowledge ofmental health legislation and related policies.
• Working knowledge of thesigns and symptoms of mental illness, risk indicators, and the potentialimpact of mental illness on family members.
• Knowledge in CBT and DBTrequired
• Working knowledge of therelevant services within the mental health program and the community.
• Must possess the verbalability to communicate with patients, physicians, program staff and otherstakeholders in order to give and receive information or instructions andto write clear and accurate reports.
• Must have the ability tofunction as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
• Employment history whichdemonstrates regular attendance at work.

Bilingualism (French andEnglish) would be considered an asset.
• Mustbe vaccinated against COVID-19.
